I made it to Callahan’s Lodge about 13 miles today. I feel beat up, took some ibuprophen, but the muscles in my shoulders still hurt from carrying that 40 pound pack.
All the hikers I meet are very kind and understanding. One in particular told me he could only hike 10 miles a day for the first few days. I asked him how many he does now and he said, “25”
Callahan’s Lodge does a great job catering to the hikers. There’s a shower, a laundry, and an open area for camping. I’m going to rest up and see if I feel better in the morning. I might have to take a zero day (no hiking).
